Basic Information:
What is the SAA?
- Columbia is a place where "it's who you know..." SAA provides its members with supreme opportunities to meet students, faculty, staff, and alumni. For history on SAA click here.
- Being a member of the SAA has many benefits:
- hone your networking skills meeting students, alums, and tons of other people
- become part of the alumni online network while you're still a student
- have access to high-profile events including Up Close Events with the Office of Institutional Advancement and Portfolio Center
- go to the monthly alumni networking meetings
- plan events on campus surrounding the idea of creating school spirit, pride and tradition
- work with other like-minded students who want to make their college years the best years of their lives
- use your major and your talents to build your resume, portfolio, and/or reel
- have tons of fun and create life-long memories!
- the SAA's meets weekly to discuss ways to further their mission, plan events and fundraisers, and go to monthly alumni meetings
- they create and facilitate Madness Week, a week of spirit-themed events for the college campus
- work with other college offices on special projects including the Media Production Center Letter Writing Campaign and much more!
- the SAA current has several on-going projects that you can help with and use your talents
- the SAA is always open to new ideas for projects and events
