Who evaluates transfer courses?
The Associate Chairman or individual concentration coordinator as directed by the Associate Chair is responsible for Audio Art & Acoustics course transfer decisions.

Student asked to bring:
Course equivalency questions will be addressed on a case-by-case basis by the Associate Chair. Students are generally asked to bring the syllabus and class schedule for the course they wish to be considered for transfer credit.
All transfer students must either pass Columbia's Basic Audio Systems final exam with a C or better grade or enroll their first semester at Columbia in 43-1110 Introduction to Audio and Audio Production I, to meet the prerequisites for intermediate study in this major.
Timeline:
Faculty will respond within 10 business days to the student's request. Faculty will record their evaluation on an electronic Course Equivalency, Substitution, and Waiver Form.
Student will receive:
Office of Degree Evaluation evaluators will issue a new or revised Transfer Evaluation Report to the student within a week of receipt of the Course Equivalency, Substitution, and Waiver Form from the department.
