Art History Council
+ Mission
The Art History Council fosters community between students who want to become a part of the art world. our Council works to engage students and artistic establishments and to foster different ways of thinking about art. We are dedicated to promoting encounters with the arts for Columbia students who have an interest to interact, engage in discourse, and collaborate. Currently our members are working on an arts review zine, hosting Art History professional forums, artist talks, and a student-led conference. As a Council, we provide resources relative to art history, networking, lectures and various other opportunities. Study groups and paper reviews are hosted in order to encourage discussion in a non-intimidating fashion and foster academic excellence. Setting initiatives for student involvement/ exploration includes a unique semester travel agenda, workshop sessions, special events such as campus gallery walks, and topic-specific monthly movie nights.
