Date: 5/15/2008 Congratulations to the resident assistants selected for the 2008-2009 school year. These RAs, as they are commonly known, are integral staff members in the life development of Columbia residents. As a resident on campus, RAs may impact your life and be involved in your accomplishments and challenges. These student leaders hold an important role on campus and are often required to be compassionate, diligent, responsible, and creative members of the Columbia community. Date: 5/14/2008 to 5/30/2008 After a rescheduled election week and an unusually low voter turn-out, Columbia College Chicago's Student Government Association announced next year's senate roster and elected its 2008-2009 Executive Board last week. In all, 20 senators make up the new body, only 12 of which represent students from specific departments on campus. Date: 5/2/2008 to 5/23/2008 After an aggressive campaign this year by the Office of New Student Programs and Orientation (NSPO), eighteen new Orientation Leaders (OL) have been chosen for the 2008 orientation season.  Out of the one hundred thirty one applications passed out during the info sessions, fifty- two were returned to NSPO office. OLs were notified on April 8, and met with the NSPO staff on April 17 and 18 to fill out commitment forms and go over future responsibilities.
