One Tribe

Engaging Columbia’s Multicultural Community!
MISSION:
One Tribe is a body of student representatives from all cultural organizations under the leadership of Multicultural Affairs that addresses issues surrounding diversity and social justice at the college.
GOALS:
- Provide a forum to discuss diversity and social justice issues that have an effect on the campus community.
- Create events that engage the larger Columbia community in Multicultural Affairs and its student organizations.
- Facilitate collaboration among student groups serving Columbia’s underrepresented students.
- Propose initiatives that will improve diversity and contribute positively to the campus climate.
One Tribe Scholars
MISSION:
One Tribe Scholars are a select group of 10 student ambassadors who actively engage the college community in the exploration and articulation of diversity and social justice issues. The Scholars are charged with identifying and amplifying the student voice regarding diversity issues and creating understanding of and positive changes on these issues. The Scholars also speak to what student success entails and how Columbia’s 9 Principles of Student Success have guided their college experience. Ultimately, the One Tribe Scholars program aims to prepare students to effectively integrate themselves into a global society, to appreciate the differences among all people, and to respectfully function collaboratively with others.
