Victor Hernandez Stumpfhauser

"As a foreign student, I'm searching for two main things"
...says Victor Hernandez Stumpfhauser, who has already composed music for a public radio station in Mexico and worked as a pianist for the Telemundo series "Quincieñera." He came to Columbia looking for "an education that creates bridges between my background and the personal goals I've set up for myself, and a rich and diverse cultural environment that will enhance my experiences as a musician." He's found that environment in Chicago. As one of the first students in the college's new Music Composition for the Screen master's program, he's finding an "academic solidarity" at Columbia that will prepare him well for success in his chosen discipline, film scoring. He'll earn his M.F.A. in 2009. Then, watch for his name when the credits roll.
