Brian Matos

"I want to be a person who brings people together, to be someone decision-makers trust."

"As a kid," says Brian Matos, "I would listen at night to voices from Milwaukee, Cleveland, St. Louis. I just knew there was a bigger world out there." Born in Puerto Rico and the first generation in his family to attend college, Brian is graduating this year with a degree in broadcast journalism/radio. He's already held internships with WBBM and WGN. He's served as president of the Student Government Association for the better part of two years. And he's the 2008 class valedictorian. "My folks gave everything they had so I could be here," he says. "And I've never taken their sacrifice for granted. It's a privilege to be here."
