Ines Kembel

"Columbia seemed to be artistic, diverse, and prestigious."

That’s why Ines Kembel thought it would be a good place to study the music business. "I'm a singer/songwriter," she says, "and find it important to know the business side of the music industry as well." Originally from Rotterdam, The Netherlands, Ines would be comfortable and engaged with her community anywhere, but she chose Columbia. "Traveling around the world has broadened my horizons and encouraged me to become a world citizen. The world has become my home." After graduation, she says, "I will tour the world with my band and try to inspire people to follow their dreams," much like many world-music artists inspire her. She’s a civically engaged citizen of the world, at home at Columbia.
