Kevin Dirckson

Major: Dance
Hometown: Lake Wales, Florida
Past life: I worked at Disney World.
Inspiration: Jesus Christ, Bishop T.D. Jakes, and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Favorite teacher: We didn’t always see eye-to-eye, but Peter Carpenter’s classes really helped me grow into an artist who has something to say though my movement and writing.
Most humbling experience at Columbia: The students here are all great people, and many are better in their artistic fields than people who have actually “made it.”
Weirdest thing seen in the South Loop: I go to Columbia College, nothing seems weird to me!
Music that puts you in a creative mood: Classical
Most necessary tool for creating: Life and living it
Main creative collaborator: Kesha Johnson, another dance major, and I have worked together on many works.
