Sean Keenan

"It feels really good that they respect my opinion that much"
...says Sean Keenan, who served on the committee that chooses artists-in-residence during his internship at Anchor Graphics. As an intern at Anchor, the nonprofit fine-art printmaking workshop that joined Columbia College in 2006, Sean got an insider’s view of a professional print studio. For 16 hours a week, he assisted Anchor’s director, David Jones, and other master printers and visiting artists as they worked at the presses, but he still had time to work on his own prints, and even to help teach a class. "I learned a lot about printmaking, and how not-for-profit organizations function," he says. "Those guys are totally awesome. It worked out for me there."
