Project Summary: Havens is an exploration of mid- to late-19th century architecture in Northwest Indiana towns including Valparaiso, Crown Point, Hammond, Chesterton and Michigan City. Using a 4x5 view camera mounted to the top of a truck, Andy Covington created photographs in which the houses appear miniature and delicate. The characteristics of each historic house determine the choice of black and white or color.
