Project Summary: A letterpress book edition that utilizes The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne as a basic premise to study the nature of adultery in our society. Though The Scarlet Letter was published in 1850, it was a landmark novel on the subject of adultery and contributed greatly to the shaping of our thoughts on the subject. What are the experiences of those around me, what are their thoughts on the matter? What specifically has shaped those thoughts; religion, fiction, experience? How will they view my past actions, with scorn or compassion? Does this symbol have any relevance in today's society?
