Graduate Tuition & Scholarships
At Columbia College, graduate tuition & fees are offered on the basis of credit hours, and you'll find the cost of our programs quite reasonable. Currently, the cost of tuition at the graduate level for 2008-2009 is $633 per credit hour. We also offer a range of materials to help you pay for the Graduate Program.
Applicants (New Students)
Applicants to the Columbia's graduate programs are automatically considered for the Follett Fellowship and Departmental Merit awards if they apply by the recommended/early admission deadline or submit an application at at an Open House (the exception to this practice is Film & Video).
The Follett Fellowship is a one-year (fall and spring) tuition remission, awarded to new graduate students. The Follett Fellowships are for new students only and winners are selected based on merit by the department of choice during the admission cycle. Award winners are usually notified of their selection soon after admission to the program is offered. There is no separate application for this award.
The Departmental Merit Awards are small tuition-remission awards that will range from about $500 to $3,000 for the year. DMAs are for new students only and winners are selected based on merit by the department of choice during the admission cycle. Award winners are usually notified of their selection soon after admission to the program is offered. There is not separate application for this award.
Applicants who plan to teach may also be eligible for the Diversifying Higher Education Faculty in Illinois. More...
Continuing Students
Tuition Remission Awards (formerly called Graduate Assistantships) are small tuition waivers for continuing students who are providing educational/project/research support in their departments. Students must be enrolled for classes to be eligible and must be nominated by the department.
The Albert Weisman Scholarship was established in 1974 to encourage Columbia College Chicago students to complete a significant body of work marking the passage from experimentation and exploration and to making a singular artistic statement. Funding is available to a limited number of students in a variety of media who need financial assistance in order to finish a significant project or thesis project, up to $4000.
