  PURPOSE
We will not only be attending the MIDEM Festival, but actually representing four unsigned American artists of different genres and shopping these projects to the distributors and vendors of MIDEM. Many a record deal or distribution agreement has come out of this conference so we are confident of our abilities and passion to be successful. For more information on the Festival itself, check out www.midem.com.

VISION
While the trip itself will be life-changing,
here are some tangible goals that aspire to:
We will experience a practical, real world experience of doing business in a world market place for music.
We will gain an understanding of the size and complexity of the worldwide music industry.
We will gain an appreciation of the multitude of different genres of music and their cultural importance and marketability in different countries.
We will learn interpersonal business skills by talking and negotiating with music industry professionals from around the world.
We will learn techniques and strategies for doing business with music distributors and other music companies such as wholesalers, importers, manufactures, marketing & promotion firms and concert & festival promoters.
By attending both business and social events, students will develop long term relationships by networking with industry professionals such as executives, entrepreneurs, producers, promoters, attorneys, artist, etc.
We will be exposed to important issues by attending several seminars with panels of experts from around the world, on topics that can range from The Status of Hip Hop Music Around the World to Current Legal Developments in the Electronic Distribution of Music.
We will develop planning and reporting skills by jointly writing a
comprehensive business plan for the project with financial projections, and a final report and follow-up plan upon their return.
We will gain an appreciation of the media by attending several press conferences for newsworthy celebrities and also be interviewed at a press conference where they will be the newsworthy celebrities.
These skills will not only help us in our education but in our career goals in the music and entertainment industries.
