Graduate Program Completion Options

Completion Options

Upon completion of 39 hours of required course work, AEMM graduate students may select from three options for completing their graduate studies:
  • The Master’s Thesis Option
  • The Master’s Thesis Project Option
  • Practicum/Consulting Project

The Master’s Thesis Option:

The principal objective of the Master’s Thesis is to demonstrate original scholarship and contribute to the general knowledge of the field of arts, entertainment, and media management.

The Master’s Thesis Project Option:

In lieu of a formal Master’s Thesis, the AEMM graduate student may elect to develop a Thesis Project demonstrating his/her knowledge within the respective area of concentration. Examples of such projects include business plans, web sites, online magazines, video documentaries, musical productions, computer programs, strategic plans, etc. For business plan thesis projects, please refer to the Business Plan Project: Thesis Policy and Procedures booklet available in the AEMM Department Office.
Regardless of the form, the quality of the Thesis Project will be judged by the degree of preparatory diagnosis, creativity, evidence of actual effectiveness, and by critical evaluation by members of the student’s project committee and/or other appropriate persons having expertise in the project field.

Practicum/Consulting Project Option:

Details to be posted. Check AEMM graduate website:
