Visiting Artists

The student’s classroom and studio experience is enriched by a Visiting Artist program that allows for meaningful interaction through seminars, workshops, lectures, and individual critiques with internationally renowned practitioners. Over the years, we've brought an incredible number of artists to the department. Learn more about our recent guests on the visiting artist page.

among tender roots

The Center for Book & Paper Arts houses a two thousand square foot exhibition space on the second floor of the historic Luddington building in downtown Chicago. In our exhibitions, we emphasize contemporary and historic artists' books and innovative paper practices. As we recognize handmade paper and artists' books as sites of interdisciplinary activity, our exhibitions regularly feature work across disciplines, such as photography, new media, painting/drawing, sculpture and printmaking. Recently our exhibitions have been reviewed or featured in Artforum, Artnet, Time Out Chicago, Felt&Wire, The Chicago Tribune, La Raza, Artslant and Newcity. Learn more at our Exhibitions page.
