Junior Scientist Program

Summer Students

Every summer, selected Chicago Public School and area high school students are invited to work on a cancer research project combined with science visualization at the Institute's Basic Science Research Laboratory and Visualization Laboratory.  Many of their works on the biology of the prostate have been presented in Chicago Public School science fairs as well as national and international conferences on urological diseases.

In 2009, three students who participated in the 2008 summer program advanced to the Chicago citywide science fair and two advanced to the statewide fair.

For further information about the program, or if you know someone in high school (incoming junior/senior standing) who could participate in this program please call Mara Kovacevic at the Science Institute at 312 369-7180.  Or please download an application form here.  Deadline: May 15, 2009.
