Microfunding

Each year Art + Activism: Critical Encounters supports on-campus partnerships and collaboration for programs, projects and events including visiting artists, exhibitions, lectures and other activities connected to Art & Activism. Anyone seeking support needs to complete a Microfunding proposal form for review.

Eligibility: Everyone in the columbia community including students, faculty and staff are eligible to apply. Successful proposals take into consideration collaboration, curricular integration and how the greater campus community will access and benefit from the project.

What is available: There are various kinds of support available including: help with identifying event/project locations, identifying potential collaborators, marketing, promotion, and up to $500 towards honorariums and certain types of expenses.

Deadlines: Proposals for support during the academic year will be reviewed on a rolling basis. You must apply for support at least 4 weeks in advance of your event (for marketing support, at least 8 weeks in advance) and allow up to 2 weeks for us to review your proposal and get back to you (please allow more time if there is an upcoming holiday or vacation). All completed proposal should be emailed to criticalencounters@colum.edu with a subject line of "Microfunding Proposal."

What next?: The funding cycle for the 2012/13 academic year has ended and we are not accepting any more proposals. Look for next year's application for support here in August 2013.
