Helen Fong Dare Scholarship

The Helen Fong Dare Scholarship was established by Nancy Tom to honor her mother, who was a supporter of young artists. The scholarship awards up to $2,000 to a student who has shown a commitment to Asian arts and media to produce a project in which he or she is interested. Past submissions have included, but are not limited to: film, dance, animation, creative writing, multimedia, and photography.

  • Applicants must be enrolled as full-time undergraduate or graduate student at Columbia College Chicago at the time of application.
  • Along with application describing what kind of project the money will go toward, students must submit a sample of their work. This can be previous work or a working progress.
  • Students who have applied before may apply again, but a student cannot win the award more than once.
