Josh Corson

Poet. Editor. Leader.

Josh Corson found his passion in poetry. Now, he wants everyone to listen up.

When Josh Corson wrote his first poem in the middle of the night on his dad’s drum machine, he woke his parents to come listen. And when he migrated from his home state of Florida to Columbia College Chicago, he already knew he wanted to be a poet. As a sophomore, he launched Habitat Magazine, an online journal dedicated to publishing fiction, nonfiction and poetry written by Columbia students. Later that year, Corson co-founded Point Blank, a poetry club that connects members with workshops, open mics and mentoring opportunities. Through it all, he’s continued writing and performing his own poems. “We have something to say, and we’re saying it through poetry,” he says. “You should listen.”
