The event was presented in collaboration with Chicago Park District's South Shore Cultural Center, with the support of the National Endowment for the Arts, which believes that a great nation deserves great art; the Illinois Arts Council, an agency of the state of Illinois; and a congressionally directed grant administered by the Institute of Museum and Library services. Additional operating funds were provided in part by the Sara Lee Foundation and the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation with in-kind support from American Airlines.
