Course Description: Puppetry, Pageantry, and the Artof Spectacle

Puppetry, Pageantry, and the Artof Spectacle

Students will explore spectacle, street performance, puppet making, and community parade. Using various materials, students will learn to construct basic rod puppets and spectacle objects. Performance and its relationship to puppetry will be explored. In addition, basic tools of the woodshop will be explained, as well as sculpting and paper maché.
