Course Description: Introduction to Human Reproduction and Development: We Do It for a Living

This course investigates the underlying principles of mammalian reproductive biology with special emphasis on human reproduction. Topics throughout the semester include basic and clinically oriented material related to the male and female reproductive systems. The course will also touch on assisted reproductive technologies, cloning and molecular biology of reproduction and the bioethical problems associated with these emerging technologies. Laboratory work is an essential component of this course as well as projects (most of which will be web-based) that incorporate students' interests, majors and cultural background.
