Community Connections

The purpose of Critical Encounters is to introduce Columbia College faculty and students to social issues affecting millions of people worldwide; and this year the focus is Poverty and Privilege.

But the most important part of exploring this issue is connecting the campus to the community. This year?s Critical Encounters Focus extends far beyond concepts in the classroom or in student life ? it involves the realities of our neighbors, friends and partners.

This Web site will allow students and faculty to better connect with the community, and allow the community to embrace Columbia College. The resources found in Community Connections presents some of the deliberate ways we will support discussion of the Critical Encounters Focus on pedagogical and professional levels throughout the school year.
