Since June marks Chicago's high season for both conferences and tourist activity, we recommend you make your reservations as soon as possible in order to be guaranteed housing for the 2007 CASTL Institute.
CASTL registrants can either book rooms on their own or reserve a room at one of the two properties where we have secured special "CASTL" discounted rates: the University Center ($50.00 - $65.00 per night, a rate which includes tax) and the Hotel Blake ($159.00 per night, a rate which does not include tax).

- $50.00 per person/per night for Quad Semi-Suite room double occupancy

(All of the above rates for UCC rooms already include tax.)
How to reserve a room: By filling out the same form you must fill out
in order to register for CASTL - the 2007 CASTL registration form.

The University Center is a state-of-the-art student residence constructed in 2004 to house students from Columbia College, DePaul University, and Roosevelt University. The facility offers guests the benefits of a gym, food court, and an incredible location in Chicago's Loop all for a very affordable price. The University Center is a particularly convenient choice for CASTL Institute attendees since the majority of CASTL Institute sessions will take place in the University Center's conference center on the second floor. There is no parking available at the University Center.
There are two room types available at the University Center:
Quad Semi-Suites:
These rooms have two twin beds and can accommodate either single or double occupancies. Included with a stay in this room is a meal card with a value of $8.50 for each day of your stay. Each Quad-Semi-Suite room shares a lockable bathroom with an adjoining Quad Semi-Suite room.
4-Person Apartments: - SOLD OUT!
As of 4/27/07 4-person apartments are no longer available.
At least three guests are needed to book this apartment-style option. The apartments offer the benefits of a full-service kitchen with a dishwasher, microwave and stove, and private bathrooms
The University Center website has more information on these rooms and on the offerings of the facility. Though remember you are unable to book your room on the UC website; you must use the 2007 CASTL Institute registration form.
Hotel Blake

Hotel Blake makes it possible to stay in one of the most historical, charming areas of Chicago, Printer's Row, which is located just two blocks west of the University Center and the heart of the Columbia College campus.
Originally the home base for the Morton Salt Company, the building dates back to the late 19th century, when the area was home to the city's printing and publishing industry. Formerly known as the Printer's Row Hyatt, the property was rehabbed in 2005 and re-opened as the Hotel Blake, a luxury boutique hotel with rooms that feature granite countertops, plasma TVs, deep red fabrics and dark woods, as well as such amenities as a 24-hour fitness center, 24-hour business center, and complimentary internet service.
In addition to great views of the city's architectural wonders, such as the Board of Trade, Sears Tower and Chicago Public Library, the hotel lures the locals with its outstanding partner restaurant, Custom House, where James Beard award-winning chef Shawn McClain prepares modern steak and seafood dishes.
