Mordine & Company Dance Theater
40th Anniversary Season
February 26, 27 & 28 * 8:00 p.m.
Mordine & Company Dance Theater, the Midwest’s longest-running contemporary dance company, celebrates its 40th anniversary at The Dance Center. Praised for her original choreography combining wit and sheer movement with technical sophistication, Shirley Mordine’s work has been described as “adventurous, audacious, gutsy, and energetic.” On the program is a new work by Mordine, three to four excerpts of seminal Mordine dances set on Chicago dancers and a restaging of Songspiel, originally performed in 1980, set to Kurt Weill’s music.
