Tom is serving his second term as Columbia College Faculty Organization President and is an associate professor in the English Department teaching a variety of courses. He was hired at CCC as a part-time instructor in 1977, before becoming a full time instructor in 1985. Since then he has served on the College Council and numerous standing committees such as ACT, ERC, Strategic Planning, Faculty Liaison to the Board of Trustees, Faculty Handbook, Sabbatical, Faculty Development and others. He also has been a member of the Tenure Review and the Tenure Revision Committee. Recently, he participated in Oxford University’s Literary Roundtable discussing “Literature and Spirituality.” He has published articles, interviews, and reviews in The Michigan Quarterly Review, The Writer’s Chronicle, Gravity, Another Chicago Magazine, Hyphen and is currently working on a book entitled, Riding the Ho Chi Minh Trail.
