Currently enrolled Sherwood students, who, on September 1, 2013, are 18 years old or younger are eligible. Students can compete in one of six separate categories, each with a junior, intermediate and advanced level of competition. Students may compete in more than one instrument and will be assigned a specific audition time on the day of the competition. The first three placements in the Advanced Level of the Strings, Winds and Brass, Piano, Percussion and Voice categories ONLY will compete in the Scholarship Finals on Saturday, May 11 at 2:00 PM.

Students are required to secure their own accompanist if needed, Sherwood will not provide an accompanist for you. All scheduling of rehearsals, communication, and payment for accompanists must be handled directly between the participant and the accompanist, not through Sherwood. If you need to find an accompanist, we will post a list of available accompanists on this page very soon.
Sherwood Scholarship Information
Awards will be issued as tuition reductions during the 2013-2014 academic year, not as direct cash awards; please see below for specific award information. All awards will be made at the discretion of judges, and must be used for individual lesson instruction at Sherwood Community Music School. Scholarship recipients will be required to perform at recitals and donor events up to four (4) times during the award period (September 2013 - June 2014), and must be able to attend the Honors Recital and Senior Reception on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 7:00 PM at Sherwood.

Primary Level (Piano Only)
If, due to insufficient participation, scholarships are not awarded in any specific category or level, they will be reassigned to students in the category with the greatest number of participants.
