Eduardo Arocho, a life-long resident of Chicago's Humboldt Park neighborhood, has published six chapbooks of poetry including Highway Island, The 4th Tassel, and Behind The Máscara. His newest collection is Hot Wings (2013). Arocho received the 2011 Hispanic Heritage Award in Fine Arts from Northeastern Illinois University. His poetry has appeared in El Centro Journal, Center for Puerto Rican Studies at Hunter College, NY, and in Power Lines: Anthology plus Open Fist: Anthology of Young Illinois Poets (Tia Chucha Press). Voiceover credits include the 2008 Mildred Amador documentary Flags of Steel, the 2001 film Urban Poet, and the 1998 Chicago Matters series Our Region Our Community, "From San Juan To Humboldt Park," on WBEZ/Chicago Public Radio. Arocho is a regular contributor to the La Voz del Paseo Boricua newspaper. He earned his MS from Spertus College of Nonprofit Management. Arocho is currently at work on a new collection of poems.
