Artistic Consultant Sheryl Johnston has been involved with the Story Week Festival of Writers for 17 years and is a proud recipient of the Story Week Achievement Award. She earned her BA in fiction writing from Columbia College Chicago, and her work has appeared in Emergence, Hair Trigger 16 and 17, Footlights, Banditlit.com, and Chicagoartistsresource.org. Before attending Columbia, Johnston was an editorial writer at WLS-TV, a vice president of public relations at J. Walter Thompson, and president of her own communications agency. She is a former judge for WBEZ Radio's Stories on Stage contest and an editor for Hair Trigger. Johnston has presented book publicity workshops for the Kresge Foundation, Detroit; Pacific University's Low-Res MFA writing program, Forest Grove, OR; DePaul University, Chicago; and the Portage District Library, Kalamazoo, Michigan. She publicizes authors throughout the country and consults on publicity and events for clients involved with education and the arts.
