Create a Plan

Student Financial Services understands financing your college education is a major investment in your future. For this reason, we have established a guide to help you create your financial plan for attending Columbia College Chicago education. Watch this three minute video for an overview of the guide.

In our Create a Plan stage you will find a library of information regarding costs, funding resources and billing procedures, as well as videos, and worksheets to help you create your personal plan. We commend you complete each step found in this stage by the recommended deadlines outlined below. If you miss the recommended completion deadlines for this stage it may be possible to catch up but it will take extra effort to get back on track with your planning. There is much to consider so please review everything thoroughly and contact us any time you may have a question.

Complete the following steps to create your plan by June 1 for the upcoming academic year:

  1. Calculate Your Costs –Use the Net Price Calculator to determine tuition, room and board, and cost of attendance estimates.
  2. Review Funding Sources –Decide which sources you will utilize to finance your education and find out the process of applying for them.
  3. Review Payment Options – Choose the Payer Identity Plan which best describes how you will pay for your education (i.e. Cash Payer, Financial Aid Recipient, Third-Party Payer Plans).
  4. Apply for Financial Aid –Any student wishing to use Federal or state financial aid must read this page.
  5. Review Your Award Packet – Use this page to help you understand the resources available to you on your award letter and next steps to securing them.
