David Friedman Memorial Scholarship

for continuing undergraduate and graduate students

The David Friedman Memorial Scholarship was established in Fall 2002 as a memorial for a great friend to the Fiction Writing Department. A talented painter and writer, David was a kind, generous man who attended many department events, participated in alumni readings, and offered wonderful support to the department’s faculty and students.

The David Friedman Memorial Scholarship will support a prize to be offered each year to the best story in the Fiction Writing Department’s award-winning magazine, Hair Trigger.

Award Amount:
  • Maximum of $500

  • Recipients will be notified by the committee by November 2016.
