Fall Orientation

Welcome to Columbia College Chicago.  Your next steps are very important. Completing the following checklist will help you transition into the Columbia College community.

Checklist for New Students
    • Sign up for an Orientation Session.  Be sure you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer. Orientation is mandatory for all new students, so sign up now.
    • Take New Student Placement, if necessary. See FAQs for more information.
    • Take the three minute New Student Survey.
    • Have a look at the Slick Little Book.  It has all the information you need to plan for Orientation/Registration and beyond.  You will be mailed a hard copy of the Slick Little Book, but you can view it online now.  Parents can have a look at the student version and also peruse their very own parent version.
    • Begin Planning for Registration.
    • Write down your OASIS password and be sure to bring it with you to Orientation.
    • Confirm your immunization status.
    • If you plan to live on-campus, make sure that all of your application materials have been submitted.  For more information, please contact Residence Life.
    • If you are applying for financial assistance, verify that all materials have been submitted.  For more information, please contact Student Financial Services.
    • These pages provide information on transferring credits to Columbia. Students who begin their education at one institution and then transfer to Columbia will be able to determine how the courses they have taken will fulfill either Columbia's Liberal Arts and Sciences requirements or in some cases, courses in their chosen major.
