The Illustration Program Curriculum
Paul Vaccarello,Coordinator

The Illustration Program
The mission and purpose of the Illustration Program reflects the college mission, which includes, “…The programs intent is to educate the student to communicate creatively and shape the public's perceptions of issues and events and who will author the culture of their times.” The foundation of the program’s curriculum is rooted from a historical perspective to provide the basic skill that will enable the student to create an image to communicate a message. The program’s intent is to forge a relationship where ideas and practices converge. Students are encouraged to create and explore the use of image, time, text and sound, and apply it to related disciplines. The program challenges the traditional definition of illustration and creates a new analytic, societal, cultural and aesthetic practice.
