Interior Architecture

Presently we have an opportunity as designers to design exciting and efficiently designed spatial environments. Ones positive experience in such an environment attests to the results of a designer’s problem solving ability. It is our belief for both levels of study, graduate and undergraduate that a high level of communication skills, both written and graphic, and a broad knowledge of arts, design, history, and related technology are required as a basic skill for designer. We stress in our program an awareness and understanding of human needs, ergonomics, and cultural expectations which we believe are necessary for functional and aesthetics of any Architecture and Interior Architecture problem.

In Spring 2005, Columbia College Chicago's undergraduate Interior Architecture program was granted accreditation by the Foundation for Interior Design Education and Research (FIDER). Further information on FIDER can be found at http://www.fider.org
