The Film & Video Department of Columbia College Chicago is hosting its annual student film festival, The Big Screen on Thursday, May 13, 2004. The event takes place at the Harold Washington Library Auditorium, 400 S. State Street, Chicago, IL at 7:00 PM. Admission is free and open to the public.

 

In its 8th successful year, the festival highlights the best student films of the year, including Narrative, Animation, Experimental and Documentary works. The Big Screen is a juried competition with cash prizes awarded in a variety of areas including the Best of Fest and Audience awards.

In addition, several films are screened at both national and international festivals, as well as a bi-annual screening in Los Angeles.

The Big Screen has become one of the premiere event for the department, bringing together students, faculty, staff, and alumni, as well as industry professionals, in celebration of all the talented student filmmakers at Columbia. The festival is open to all Film & Video students of Columbia College Chicago.
