THE WABASH ARTS CORRIDOR (WAC) ANNOUNCES A STUDENT COMPETITION WITH TWO $1,000 PRIZES

The Wabash Arts Corridor is a South Loop organization that seeks to recognize and unleash the collective power of its many creative assets, bringing synergy to local businesses, residents and the public. The initiative also seeks to transform the district’s physical environment by launching public arts projects that demonstrate the district’s dynamic creative community. Members range from academic institutions and non-profit organizations, to hotels, local businesses and the City of Chicago’s Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events.

Recent developments include an installation of large-scale fashion photography on the exterior of the Hilton Chicago; a mural project on George’s Lounge (650 S. Wabash); the Harrison Gateway collaboration with the Chicago Transit Authority to install images and haikus on the El Track support beams on Harrison Ave; expansion of the Papermaker’s Garden; and updating the façade of 619 S. Wabash.
