Faculty Information

Thank you for your support of the Albert P. Weisman Award.  The recommendations you have provided in the past have been invaluable to the award process.  This year there are several changes to the award.  Note that these were made to ensure the longevity of the award funds for future generations of students.

You can find the application, recommendation form, and submit recommendations on the Weisman Application Site.

  • Each award is $2,000

  • Only 15 applicants will receive the reward

  • The application is now on Moodle. This will allow us to communicate more efficiently with award winners and to increase the educational component of the award

  • Recommendations are completed through a form available on Moodle (also attached)

  • Completed recommendation forms can be uploaded to the faculty section of the Moodle Course

  • Do not ask the student to submit these forms for you as this will disqualify your letter

  • Deadline for applications and recommendations is January 10, 2014 at 5pm.

If you are submitting a recommendation form, please follow these instructions:

  1. Visit the Weisman Award Course on Moodle and self-enroll.
  2. You will be considered an ‘Applicant or Referent'.
  3. Scroll down to Faculty Recommendations.
  4. Download the recommendation form.
  5. Once the form is completed, upload as an assignment to the Faculty - Submit Recommendations Here assignment.
  6. You can upload up to 20 forms.  We already think you are amazing if you complete one or two recommendations and are nearing superhero status if you complete three or four. While we doubt you would submit 20 (We think you earn a deity status if you did), the default number is set high to avoid upload errors.
  7. Students do not need to wait for you submit the recommendations in order to submit their applications.

Once the form is completed, upload as an assignment to the Faculty - Submit Recommendations Here assignment.

You can upload up to 20 forms.  We already think you are amazing if you complete one or two recommendations and are nearing superhero status if you complete three or four. While we doubt you would submit 20 (I think you earn a deity status if you did), the default number is set high to avoid upload errors.

Students do not need to wait for you submit the recommendations in order to submit their applications.

The changes to the recommendation process are a move towards a more efficient online system. Next year we plan to have the recommendation form completely online, eliminating the need to upload to Moodle.

Contact us with any questions.  And again, thank you for your support of the Albert P. Weisman Award.
