Biography

Ariane Dolan, adjunct, Theater Dance, has been dancing in Chicago her whole life. She studied at The Academy in Oak Park, and the Lou Conte Studio. She began performing at 16 with the Joseph Holmes Chicago Dance Theater, a muticultural modern/jazz dance company, while still a Senior at Whitney Young High School. She earned a BA in Theater from Roosevelt University while dancing full time with JHCDT. She started doing musical theater in 1994, and never looked back. Since then she has performed in more than 50 musicals, primarily as a member of the dancing ensemble. I feel keenly that Dance in musicals is not merely about steps, technique, but about story telling, and that each time we step on stage, we carry the legacy of the dancers that came before from all traditions and styles, but also, it should be fun!I also feel strongly that Artists are also Laborers, and deserve to make a fair wage. I'm a proud member of AEA, SAG/AFTRA, and AGMA, and served as an elected at AEA from 1999-2022, always in a Chorus seat. I was a Tony Voter from 2010-2022 in connection to my service to AEA.
