Biography

As a part-time teacher, Barbara developed the Professional Survival Class in the Theatre Department at Columbia College. For over four decades she has balanced teaching acting classes at Columbia with her career as a professional actor. Most recently, she received the Jefferson Award for Actress in a Principal Role - Musical, (Queen of the Mist). She has played in over a hundred varied productions including tours of Wicked and Angels in America I & II, and received over twenty awards and nominations for roles in new plays, and musicals to Shakespearean classics. Barbara's film credits include The Company (Robert Altman) and The Straight Story (David Lynch). She received a BFA in Acting from The University of Illinois.
