Biography

Adjunct Faculty in THEA, teaching Acting and Theatre foundations Classes, and in DANC, teaching Yoga.

Magica's degree is from Columbia College where she launched her career while still an undergrad through the connections she made with the working professionals teaching her theatre courses.  After graduating, she decided to learn as much about the business as possible through "day jobs" in the field: in an agent's office; with commercial production companies; for a casting director; assisting set designers; running costumes... anything to get to know the business from all angles. All the while, she continued as a theatre actor. Some favorite roles have been: Lucy in The Good Times Are Killing Me; Maggie in Dancing at Lughnasa; Billie Dawn in Born Yesterday; Emilia in Desdemona: A Play About A Handkerchief; and Margaret in: The Forgery. A firm believer that we humans are never finished developing, she has recently begun an expoloration of stand-up comedy. Magica has worked in the industry in Los Angeles and New York City, in addition to Chicago.  She is a member of Actor's Equity Association and SAG-AFTRA, as well as the Membership Chair of the Columbia Faculty Union.
