Biography

Sandra Cross teaches private voice instruction; working primarily with students from the Music Theater, Classical and Pop genres.

Her professional credits include performing at Drury Lane Oakbrook Terrace, Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts, DuPage Opera Theatre, Bach and Beyond, Chamber Opera of Chicago, Milwaukee Opera Company and performing with the Lyric Opera of Chicago and Grant Park Choruses.  Currently, she is a professional member of the Chicago Symphony Chorus and performs around the Chicago region.

Sandra holds the following degrees; Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the Eastman School of Music and a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of Wisconsin, River Falls.  

She started working with voice students 25 years ago; beginning at Apple Tree Theater and currently is a vocal instructor at Columbia College Chicago and Old Town School of Folk Music.  Sandra encourages her students to explore and cultivate their voices and helps them achieve their vocal potential.  She is always tremendously proud of them when they have a "light bulb" moment and accomplish their goals.  "I will guide you in finding your unique sound through a variety of vocal techniques including: breath support, placement, legato phrasing, storytelling...  With hard work and perseverance, your dreams are attainable."
