All of our faculty members possess a tremendous range of skill sets as both active teachers and award-winning, internationally exhibiting artists. Our professors possess a raw energy and exuberance about making and teaching art that is actively communicated to you through teaching and doing. All of us believe art and design can make positive changes in the lives and health of the community at large.
I teach a range of design and foundation courses including furniture construction, portfolio design, ideation sketching, and a variety of skills-based foundation courses generally focused on software (Adobe Creative Cloud). In the Fashion Studies program I will be teaching Fashion Design Studio II which focuses on a range of digital design tools and their integration into creative practice.
Richard currently teaches in the Design Department at Columbia College– specializing in Illustration. Outside of Columbia he teaches in the fine arts, specializing in the history and practice of oil painting with a focus on
European master painting.
Interior Architecture and Design Studios: focusing on hands-on experience in designing and planning interior spaces for various purposes such as workplace environments and adaptive reuse projects.
Emotive Design: delving into the psychology of design and creating spaces that evoke emotions and connect with occupants in a rich and meaningful way.
