Biography

Petra Probstner has been a full-time faculty in Interior Architecture at Columbia College Chicago since 2009. She received her Masters degree in architecture at the West-Hungarian University (summa cum laude) and her BA(hons) degree with honors in interior design at the Glasgow School of Art. She has worked as an architect and designer in Glasgow, Kecskemet, London, Buffalo and Chicago focusing on experimental, human centered design both in built projects as well as award winning competition entries. She has been a visiting lecturer/juror at many prestigious universities such as Royal College of Art, Metropolitan University of London, Parsons School of Design and Pratt Institute.

Instructional Areas

Petra Probstner is actively involved with curriculum development in Interior Architecture. She teaches throughout the curriculum starting from Foundation level courses to Senior Studios.

Creative Practice and Research Interests

Research interests are connecting users to the environments they occupy through the creation of meaningful spaces.
