Biography

Alexis Pride, Director of Graduate Programs, earned her MFA in Creative Writing at Columbia College Chicago, where today she is a full-time Department of English and Creative Writing professor. She earned her Ph.D. in English from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. Her short fiction has been previously published in Tri-Quarterly Magazine, several editions of F Magazine, and other journals. Her novel, Where the River Ends, was praised by author Sandra Cisneros (The House On Mango Street), who wrote of Pride’s novel: “I applaud Alexis Pride for honoring the story of a woman warrior, a teacher. Pride writes with a sharp ear for the spoken word and with the wise and generous heart of an old spirit.” Pride is currently at work on her novel, Sex Kills.
