Biography

Jeff Schiff is the author of That hum to go by, Mixed Diction, Burro Heart, The Rats of Patzcuaro, The Homily of Infinitude, and Anywhere in this Country. Hundreds of his poems, essays, recordings, and photographs have appeared in more than a hundred and fifty publications worldwide, including The Alembic, Bellingham Review, Cincinnati Review, Grand Street, Ohio Review, Poet & Critic, Tulane Review, Tampa Review, Louisville Review, Tendril, Pembroke Magazine, Carolina Review, Chicago Review, Hawaii Review, Southern Humanities Review, River City, Indiana Review, Willow Springs, and Southwest Review.

 Jeff Schiff holds the rank of professor of English and Creative Writing. During his tenure at Columbia, he has served as Director of the Composition program, Associate and Acting Chair of the English Department, Director of College-Wide Assessment, Director of Technology for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Interim Chair of the Fashion Studies Department, and Interim Dean of the School of Graduate Studies.

Instructional Areas

Jeff Schiff has taught creative and professional writing, literature, and oral communications at Columbia College, Northern Arizona University, Purdue University, McNeese State University, Binghamton University, and the University of Texas at El Paso. At present, Jeff regularly teaches professional writing and literature courses, predominantly online.

Creative Practice and Research Interests

Jeff is a poet.
