Thomas O’Donnell received his Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Composition from Florida State University in 1996. Since then, he has taught courses in rhetorical theory, composition pedagogy, writing, advanced writing, and philosophy. His scholarly interests include speech act theory, pragmatics, intersections between philosophy and writing, and the unique function of fiction in exploring human consciousness. His work has appeared in College English and The Journal of Teaching Writing. He has recently completed a book: Wittgenstein, Ordinary Language Philosophy and the Teaching of Writing.
