ASL Silent Retreat

American Sign Language Silent Retreat

Columbia’s American Sign Language Department’s annual “Beyond the Books” Silent Retreat is designed to immerse you in Deaf culture, providing an opportunity for you to to enhance your ASL skills, and enjoy a fun learning environment away from the classroom.

This weekend-long retreat features speakers from around the country (including Columbia’s nationally-recognized faculty) and social activities built into the schedule. The retreat features interactive workshops on a variety of topics—and tailored to a range of ASL skills—and is open to both Columbia students and anyone interested in ASL from around the Midwest.

Thanks to everyone who came to the 2017 retreat. We'll see you in 2018!
