The Foundations program encourages students to take control of their creative education at Columbia College Chicago from day one.
Foundations courses foster risk taking, collaborative project development and critical analysis by allowing students to explore the building blocks of visual culture. These courses bring together students from various programs across the college for interdisciplinary collaboration.
From integrated studio courses to intensive five-week modules, the Foundations program allows students to build their artistic understanding from the ground up. Foundation Skill Classes include Sewing Essentials, Screen Printing, and Ideation Sketching, inviting students to explore their creative understanding and actively engage with their own learning.
