Business and Entrepreneurship

Entertainment Marketing
The Business and Entrepreneurship Department offers three courses in Los Angeles: Survey Entertainment Business, Entertainment Marketing Communications and Entertainment Marketing Communication Workshop.


Cinema Art and Science

Animation
Explore career opportunities at major animation studios and have your portfolio reviewed by recruiters and other professionals in the field.

MFA Producing
As a Masters of Fine Arts in Producing candidate in Cinema Art and Science, you’ll spend your final semester here, focusing on financing, packaging and pitching films.

Producing
Explore budgeting, scheduling, pitching and other producing skills, as well as the culture and structure of the film business, while making key contacts in the field.

Screenwriting
Polish your screenwriting skills as well as your ability to read and analyze scripts and pitch your ideas, all while making key contacts in the field. 


Screenwriting (Adaptation)
Develop a previously-written script, learn about adaptation-specific techniques, and address business and legal considerations, all while making key contacts in the field.

Transmedia and Cross-Platform Development
Cinema Art and Science, Television, and Interactive Arts and Media students can take courses in creating an intellectual property bible and developing material for film, TV and games. 


Fashion Studies

Styling and Costuming
Designed for students who wish to pursue a career as a costume designer and/or costume supervisor in the TV, film/video or entertainment industry.


Interactive Arts and Media

Transmedia and Cross-Platform Development
Cinema Art and Science, Television and Interactive Arts and Media students can take courses in creating an intellectual property bible and developing material for film, TV and games. 


Journalism
As a Journalism student, you can take courses on reporting entertainment industry news, diversity in the media and covering the city of Los Angeles itself.


Music

Film Scoring
Study the art of scoring, producing, recording and mixing music for films. You’ll also visit film studios, work on a sound stage and have the opportunity to learn about film scoring firsthand from industry professionals.


Television

Comedy Writing for Television
Build skills in writing, pitching and analyzing comedy scripts as well as creating a comedic show bible, all while making key contacts in the field.

Drama Writing for Television
Build skills in writing, pitching and analyzing drama scripts as well as creating a dramatic show bible, all while making key contacts in the field.

Transmedia and Cross-Platform Development
Cinema Art and Science, Television and Interactive Arts and Media students can take courses in creating an intellectual property bible and developing material for film, TV and games. 


Theatre

Acting
This hands-on experience for Theatre students pursuing careers as film or television actors includes lectures, demonstrations, field trips and performances as well as meetings with agents, managers and casting directors.
